Name: Ali on Jun 9, 2009Comments: What could possibly be a better use of the site than an open community co-operative space. Lewes road is desperately in want of such a space! This garden has the potential to enrich the quality of life of all those that live nearby- why shut people out simply to serve narrow bureaucratic and commercial interests!Flag

Name: Tom Druitt on Jun 9, 2009Comments: The Lewes Road Community Garden is the best thing to come out of Brighton for a long time! A derelict petrol station turned into a garden, bringing the community together to work on something creative, developing their own beautiful space to meet new people, get to know the neighbours, make music together or just sit and relax. Amazing.Flag

Name: Celia Turley on Jun 9, 2009Comments: The community garden is protecting the site more than an ever-absent landlord. Community gardens help people feel pride in their neighbourhood and should not be prevented simply so that the site can be left to rot again. I pass this garden on my way home from work every day and am glad to see that the space is finally being put to good use. Long may it continue!Flag
