Comments: Having a swimming pool and a library on your doorstep in levenshume is what makes the difference for me in terms of choosing levenshulme as a place to live or not. even in its current run down state the baths is an amazing facility to have , without it i would not feel quite so fortunate to live in this area. for me without the baths, levenshulme could be just a downbeat backwater with nothing much to offer the diverse communities that live in the area. the particular combination of facilites and location in levenshulme are distinctly enhanced by the baths. it has to be developed or it will go to ruin and that would be a betrayal of the potential it has to enhance the quality of living in this area..

Comments: The baths are so dilapidated now they are no longer a pleasure to use. Yet lots of people still do - Levenshulme needs this facility.

Comments: I use the baths on a regular basis and am really saddened by its state of disrepair. The building is one of the few interesting structures in the area and has a lot of decorative features (door handles, tiling etc..) that could be retained if the building is sensitively refurbished. I would also welcome some decent showers, changing rooms and toilets.

Comments: I just read the article in the South Manchester Reporter-spending all that money on cosmetic improvements without fixing the leaky roof seems at best short-sighted.

Comments: I use the baths regularly but am dismayed by the broken windows, deteriorating fabric and faded decor of this well used facility which is vital to an area with little recreational amenities.

Comments: I live in Levenshulme & have always been shocked at the state of the Baths, its like stepping back in time to the 19th Century & shows me that nothing much changes for the poor - if it was in a rich area a local pool would never look like this.

Comments: As residents of Levenshulme and Gorton south, we need to ensure that we get our fair share of funding from teh Council. we also need to ensure that money is spnet in a targetted and wise manner. To an extent, the Council has heeded us by removing Serco from the Pool management, but you have to ask why they Serco were ever put in there in the first place. We need to ensure that residents decide teh future of the pool and obtain funds for improvemnts and monitor any spending on it. we need to power to choose contractors and to withhold payment from non-perfoming contractors.

Comments: Now that the showers and toilets have been improved my next preference would be to ensure that the pool water is reliably kept at an adequate temperature

Comments: I am a regular there... however I admit the conditions we have to deal with on a daily basis are not really helping improving the attendance. Please do something about it!
