Can we all reconsider the reasons we celebrate Columbus Day? He did not discover America. He took from the Native Americans what was theirs,and he was not a hero. I find it apalling that this truth is being ignored in history teacings. I would like my children to have the right to know the truth of American history. It's contradictory for you to teach this when its now a well known fact that this time in history wasn't glorious, it was shameful.
