When I was a youth, my favorite songs growing up were "Roxanne Roxanne" By UTFO, " The Look Of Love" By ABC "Tainted Love", By Soft Cell, "She Blinded Me With Science," By Thomas Dolby, "Do it Roger Do It", By Roger Troutman, And, "The Safety Dance", By Men Without Hats. This diverse playlist was not something I had to tune in four different radio stations to hear but were all played on one radio station in Chicago. This plethora of artist(s) and styles helped mold my being into accepting the contributions of other cultures at an early age. The ability of one radio station to unite races and cultures, whether intended upon or not, to this author, was the most influential step in my life. But that was a time long ago and today's music is on its last legs. We need to save the music by keeping the arts in school allowing for students to pick up instruments. This petition we are starting is to help bring musicians to various cities and tape their performances in hopes of inspiring the youth to join a band.
