Alberto Willmore is an artist and a favorite teacher of many students at the Ella Baker elementary school in New York City. Back in 2011, while Alberto smoked a cigarette admiring his artwork he was wrongfully prowled on by an NYPD officer. When he flicked the cigarette into a water drain, the officer wrongfully detained and arrested him, using another piece of litter they pulled from the street. After 589 days, his case was finally dismissed and all the charges dropped. Why a petition then you ask? Mr. Willmore isn't allowed back into his twaching position. Why if all the charges are dropped? Because of the one false arrest of this teacher. This petition is against the New York Department of Education, speaking on behalf of a man whose job was his life and has now been unable to get back to work because of a false charge. Give Alberto his job back. For too long this man has had to deal with stresses that were unnecessary, why cause him any more. Mr. Willmore wants nothing more than to do what he loves - teach children the wonders of art. Why turn a man down for wanting to do nothing more than educate todays youth? With your help Mr. Willmore can be reinstated in a teaching position he never should've lost.
