    Comments: I coach the Spfld Central HS Girls swim team and two of my girls have qualified for western ma and were looking forward to competing. One of my relays had a chance at qualifying for states and now this has been stolen from them. Two of the girls on that relay are seniors who have never even had a chance to qualify for the state meet. Our boys have two seniors who qualified for western mass as individuals for the first time ever this season. Now this opportunity has been stolen from them because the MIAA finds it "too difficult" to reschedule the sectional meets for swimming. My understanding is that their job is to organize championships and to provide contingency plans in case of emergencies. Apparently they can't do it for swimming.

    Comments: This is beyond important! Swimming is by far the most difficult and time controlled sport! These swimmers are tapered and to have this be canceled is devastating!!

    Comments: The looks on the faces of my teammates when they made sectionals were of nothing but joy. They were thrilled to have been able to qualify for sectionals, seeing all the hard work and time put into swimming pay off is always the best feeling in the world, Taking away sectionals for some of these athletes is like saying well hey, you did good enough but but we don't want to find a way to show off that it actually did. That's how i see this situation.

    Comments: As a head track coach for a Western Mass high school who has kids in a sectional meet that was scheduled to be tomorrow, but was RESCHEDULED for monday, this to me is a complete lack of care to cancel and not reschedule. You are taking away chances for kids to qualify for states. They only have so many chances in high school to do this, and for some it's their last. They don't get to have this moment back. You are stealing something away that is not yours to take and I am unbelievably apalled. You MUST reschedule this event, I cannot believe this is actually reality that a meet of this magnitude would be canceled completely. I am disgusted with the MIAA. How dare you take this from so many kids.

    Comments: As a coach that has worked with those freshman who have worked hard over four years to hope they make western mass, I ask to give these swimmers their moment to swim at championships. Looking at their faces with questions of why and not being able to give them a reason that made any sense at all killed me. This is wrong. We are here for the kids. The joy on their faces when they were told you made it to western mass was why i coach and for it to be taken away from them for no reason. It puts me in tears for them. To all those swimmers out there, I am truely sorry that these adults do not care about what is important to you. You have great spirit and you have brought great joy to your coaches. I thank you for that.
