Ever walked down poles lane, Ware? Just before your get to the dump there is a walkway going under the A10 people have painted or should i say "Graffiti" under there for many years. I have enjoyed looking at the new works of art that crop up from time to time, but now the council have added some "clever" sign to deter painters/artists (see www.facebook.com/tomkingphoto for the photo). If you, like me, enjoy or don't mind graffiti in these types of areas then please sign this petition to try and persuade the council to let people paint down there so they won't deface the main town with quick tags in the high street or on peoples property, Let them create a master piece which they can take time to paint for every person who passes through there to enjoy. Every painter i have had the pleasure meet has been a nice person, and always willing to chat to you about what they are painting and why! Let them have this space, Let them brighten up our grey society, and let them paint their mind. Most graffiti artists paint because they want to share their art with everyone unlike mainstream artists who mainly do it for their own financial gain (not all i know but you know what i mean). Look at legal spots in London like Waterloo for instance the tunnel there attracts tourists from all over just to see what is on the walls, why cant that be poles lane? or even any spot under the A10 (along the river, beside the road and even Ware skate park). If you agree or would even just want to help prevent further damage to the high street then sign this petition and share with others to help get some legal spots for these artists in their local areas.
