Dear NHL, please let Al Sobotka twirl the octopi that are thrown on the ice at Detroit Red Wing games. He could stand at center ice and twirl the octopus. He used to do this, but the NHL said that he could no longer do it. I think that he should be able to twirl the octopi at center ice again. It really pumps up the crowd and everyone likes it. The two reason that the NHL said that 1) The matter coming off of the octopi may spray the goalies and 2) the matter coming off the octopi may damage the ice. Well, first of all, it Al does this at center ice then the goalies or anyone else are not at risk of being hit with octopi matter. Second, I propose that if there is matter coming off the octopus, then the Red Wings should hire a crew of 8-9 people to clean off the ice. It would take seconds and it would also support the economy.
