Name: Laura Yakas on Jun 4, 2006Comments: this is preposterous, leave Lenny alone... first year grades are no indication of the growth that can take place in second year. it shows he was more focussed on other UWC aspects as well as his departing friends during those last weeks. I respect him!Flag

Name: Alon on Jun 4, 2006Comments: when I think about UWC ideals I can't think about someone who is batter for this place then Lenny, throughout the year Lenny became a very importent social being in LPC, through good advices when some one is in trouble to a great friend when you have a problem. if it is grades you are worried about I am asking with everything I got, give him another chance, LPC would not e the same without Lenny. Name: Wong Howard Hau Wo on Jun 5, 2006Comments: Personally living with blk 4 and his second year, I find him a very devoted member of the community. Though he didn't put his main focus on academics this year, he gained experiences which would have never been earned if he had not involve himself that much. Realizing the problem, I am sure he will put more effort in studying and his grades will surely improve. Please do let Lenny come back. Everyone in the college community treasure his presence.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 5, 2006Comments: It has been an extremely enjoyable year having Lenny as my basketball teammate this year. Showing his overwhelmed physical ability with a certain level of determination, Lenny has gave us yet another challenging and exciting year in LPC. I guess part of growing up is to make his/her own decision and living in the consequence. We all love Lenny and hope he would have given another opportunity to maintain his acedamic place in LPC.Flag

Name: Khing Ju Li on Jun 5, 2006Comments: Although the grounds on which the Zambian National Committee chose to stop Lenny's scholarship may be understandable for any other type of educational institution, I urge them to bear in mind that the United World Colleges is not any ordinary educational organization; it's goals and aims do not place undying focus on one's academics. I believe that Lenny did not receive the scholarship based only on his academics, and those same qualities must be assessed again now. He has improved vastly, and it is possible that his grades will not continue to be so dismal as to produce such a response from the national committee.Flag

I am definitely sure that Lenny will fully concentrate himself on academics when he comes back , as it has been clearly exemplified by his abilities, especially his concentration, on the basketball court.Flag

Name: Christopher Wichmann on Jun 5, 2006Comments: I lived next to Lenny during the last year and was impressed by the passion and contribution he made to the UWC values and in promoting Zambia's culture as an ambassador of his country. Lenny is a remarkable student and it would be a tremendous loss to the community if Lenny is unable to attend LPC next year. I therefore would like to ask you to rethink the decision made.Flag

Name: Emma Suomalainen on Jun 5, 2006Comments: I really think Lenny has deserved his place in LPC. I have learnt a lot about the African as well as the Zambian culture from him. He gave me all the information I needed for a French presentation about marriage in Zambia. This benefited the whole French class to learn about a different culture. I have also had the great opportunity to discuss many issues, such as HIV and schooling in Zambia, with great insight because of Lenny. He is always happy to tell you about his culture and home if you ask and he is genuinely interested in knowing more about other places too. He settled in the school very well despite the great difference between the general school culture and his home culture. He teaches his languages to others and is eager to learn from them. He always acts politely and friendly towards his peers. It has been great having Lenny around and I would hope both for him and for the whole school community that he could continue in Li Po Chun United World College next year.Flag

Name: Margaret Chidothe on Jun 5, 2006Comments: I was deeply saddened when I heard the news that Lenny would not be returning to LPC for 1st semester. Lenny is an intergal member of the LPC student community and furthermore is an important member within the African students community. He is active in all aspects of college life from our African Cultural Evening to Cafes to Global Issue Forums. I implore the Zambian National Commuity to allow Lenny to return to the college,.This will give him the oppurtunity to demonstrate his full academic prowess and make his family, Zambian National Committee, the LPC community and most importantly himself a proud. Lenny enrichs the lives of all those he knows.College life will not be the same without Lenny.Flag

Name: Chiara Cachalia on Jun 5, 2006Comments: Although academics are an important part of LPC, i think it is extremely unfair to not allow Lenny to return to LPC, just because of that, from what i know of him he is a promising student and has all the potential to turn his grades around, but i think that the best atmosphere for him to do so in would be LPC. Please do not forbid him from returning, you would not only be putting him at a disadvantage, but the college as well. Please reconsider your decision.Flag
