Name: Chris Neep on Sep 7, 2009Comments: I am disgusted by the failure of federal government Ministers to intervene in the Lennikov matter and grant the family permanent, legal status in this country. Their refusal to do so, represents a travesty of the values of humanity that Canada purports to represent.Flag

Name: Mary D. Miller on Sep 22, 2009Comments: I am outraged that the Canadian government has taken this position on Mr. Lennikov, who has been an upstanding member of the community during his time here. The cold war is over - what harm could he possibly do to Canada to tear this loving family apart is a black mark on our supposedly tolerant society.Flag

Name: Monika Kelly on Mar 17, 2010Comments: I find it horribly amazing that Canada, a peace-keeping nation, is being so cruel in separating a family - allowing Irina & Dmitri to stay, but Mikhail has to leave. These kind people have lived here for over 12 years, been contributing to our society, came to Canada believing it to be a safe haven where they could start over, but not according to the Harper government! The Lennikovs have been honest about their past - Mikhail, a desk clerk for the KGB, who quit as soon as he could from a job he was 'required' to accept - how does that mean Mikhail is dangerous to Canadians? How many of us have had jobs we found out afterwards were ones we didn't want anything to do with? Do we get deported for taking such a stand? Let them stay in Canada! I am so NOT proud of my country in this! - one I was born and raised in and used to think was the best country in the world!Flag

Name: D. Durrand on Mar 18, 2010Comments: Like others that have written in, I too am discusted with the so called "powers that be" for not allowing this family to stay in Canada. Some of the people that have been allowed to stay are killing Canadians , involved with gangs and the drug trade, and are not contributing in any way. Here is a man that has raised a family here, had a job and paid taxes for 12 years is being forced to leave. Absolutely discusting politicians, there is no common sense any more, is it completely gone out the window. There will be a change in government and possibly then we will get in someone with compassion and decency.Flag

Name: Dr. Daniel Dorotich, PhD on Jun 11, 2011Comments: I have done much during my University career on Building Bridges between East and West to help bring an end to the Cold War. Hoe long ago was the Fall of the Berlin Wall? Are we hypocrites, bigoted right wing fanatics, or do we have in mind hidden plans for continued wars? For God's sake, Mr. Harper, bring down that wall of ignorance. For your sake, do read in the Bible what Jesus was advocating.Flag
