Comments: Leith has such an interesting history, it needs a local focal point for more people to gain an insight to its past.

Comments: Edinburgh council has allowed the demolition of so much of Leith's history for the sake of ugly houses priced out of the reach of ordinary Leithers. Establishing a museum dedicated to old Leith would be very much welcomed.

Comments: I fully support the campaign for a Leith museum - anything to remind people what Leith was like.Too much of Leith's history and culture has disappeared thanks to this council.Years ago nobody would come near Leith and now its only folk with money who can afford to come and live here.Leith and its Leither's seem less important than the council and developers making a fast buck.

Comments: I would very much welcome a museaum for Leith,I cant understand why theres not one already. Please please save Lambs House from being converted into more ugly flats and use the building for Leith's museum. Its such a historic building and would be a great site for a museum. Please dont let it be destroyed by more developers with their need for more ugly flats and their greed for money at the expense of Leith and its history.

Comments: I am 82yrs old and have lived in Leith all my life. When my daughter takes me out in the car it breaks my heart to see what has happened to the place I grew up in.There are no whisky bonds left-they are now flats for folk with money.I hear Lambs House might turn out the same,I cannot believe whats happened to Leith.Leith hospital for the people of Leith is now flats, can nothing be left alonePlease use Lambs House for the museum and give me and folk like me something to look back on 'good auld Leith'.

Comments: As Leith has changed so much in the last ten years or so I think it will be a fantastic thing to have a Museum in Leith. A place I would like to see it put would be in the old Lambs House, very central in the heart of Leith, and don't change it into flats, a place where all TRUE LEITHERS will know

Comments: Our family celebrates 150 years since our forbears James Strange Mucklejohn and his wife Catherine Mustard arrived in NZ (from Scotland via Prine Edward Island, Canada). Capt JSM was born in N. Leith in 1807, he and his sons were early shipbuilders, and Master Mariners. They designed and built the frist scow in NZ, this contributed greatly to the development of trade and settlement in NZ. We feel it is vital that Leith has a museum and wish your campaign every success.

Comments: I think this is a great idea. My mother was a Leither and talks about the community that was there. If this could be recognised in some form in the up and coming Leith we know today I think that would be of interest to many residents and visitors alike.

Comments: I believe that the establishment of a museum for Leith in Lamb's House within the next year would be an appropriate and timely step, which would not only locate the museum in a place of historical importance, but also prevent the latter from falling into unsuitable ownership.

Comments: Hi, My family lived in Leith for many years (from great-grandfather up to my father's birth). VArious family members were involved in ship-building and the ports. From a personal point of view I would there fore greatly value such a museum. But this is a lesser consideration than the immense local, national and international historical value of the community in Leith and the importance of its being conveyed via a locally based museum. Best of luck

Comments: I believe Leith deserves it own museum simply because the area is steeped with history and every street, building and person within leith has a story to tell. A museum that can capture days gone by and that can capture the future of the area too would be a fantastic way to bring the community together now and in the future.
