Comments: We have seen the city of Hamilton develop a (somewhat) integrated bike plan only to have individual councillors give themselves veto power over infrastructure in their wards, resulting in cancellation of several links - defeating the purpose of an integrated plan.

Comments: Premier McGuinty: Better cycling infrastructure means more cyclists. That leads to healthier Ontarians, lower health care costs, lower GHG emissions, more connected communities and less congestion on our roads. Some municipalities in Ontario have shown leadership in developing active transportation infrastructure, but without a high-level political direction, the development of sufficient infrastructure for cyclists still lags tremendously behind the construction of infrastructure that caters exclusively to cars. We're leading North America on green energy, why not green transportation as well? Thank you.
