Supporters of this petition agree that, marijuana use and sale should be legalized in the United States of America, for the reasons that follow : 1. Any American citizen over the age of 18 who has verifiable Identification and is allowed to apply his/herself to enlist in our military to fight for our country's freedom, should have the right to inhale the smoke produced by a natural plant. 2. Taxing the sale of Marijuana the same as cigarettes would create a very desirable, positive boost to our economy and increase our government's funds which could be put towards providing grants to schools or increasing the reality of a free healthcare system. 3. The Marijuana plant is a renewable resource that can be used for many different purposes such as fuels, medicines, oils, paper, and building materials etc. 4. A person committing a crime is held responsible for his/her own actions whether sober or under the influence of any substance and faces the same consequences as the perpetrator before him/her, therefor, the assumption that a drug influenced the act should be thrown out of question. 5. America is considered a "Free Country" isn't it?
