MARIJUANA
Marijuana is an all natural herb. Despite what the public says Marijuana is not an addictive (drug). For those who claims it is…anything can theoretically be addictive; such as sugar, coffee, etc. In fact pot is less addictive than coffee, people can experience withdraws such as headaches, and shaking from coffee, and iv never heard of withdraws from marijuana. Of all the drugs, including ALCOHOL, pot is by far the safest. People might drink alcohol, and start a fight, but people don’t get angry when high. Marijuana makes people happy and relaxed and most people not a subject to violent behaviors when under the influence of marijuana. Marijuana heightens the imagination and improves the creativity, and if you have an anger problem its highly possible that pot could reduce. Not to say that you won’t be angry, but definitely can reduce it. A lot of people say that people smoke because their depressed, well what other alternate might their be? Antidepressants sounds good, well antidepressants literally take all the sharpness and life out of you. Some antidepressants makes you zombie like, you might be unmotivated, or antisocial, or have no drive to accomplish anything, when marijuana can make you happy, take your mind of the depressing subject, and still give you life, social capability, and drive. People say marijuana makes people lazy, or does that type of personality of people just happen to find marijuana. I think just because somebody’s lazy and smokes doesn’t mean the drugs make everybody lazy and unmotivated to do much of anything but sit around. There are many cases of people working, or working hard at that while under the influence of marijuana, like the Rastafarians in Jamaica. The brain has a tendency to lock on to a problem and you mind gets into a mental loop where you cant stop thinking about work, or school, or some other problem and marijuana can help you break the cycle and see the problem from a different perspective, or allow your mind to move on and rest. When in result will allow you to enjoy life so that you can recover and have a fresh perspective for the next day.
If pot were legal, I think many people would switch from alcohol, simply because alcohol is the only legal drug right now. Alcohol is highly addictive and is both physically and psychologically destructive. I think that one side effect of legalizing marijuana would be a major reduction of alcohol abuse and that the number of alcohol related traffic deaths would drop dramatically. Another reason is to save the huge cost in tax dollars wasted in prohibiting pot, and enforcing drug laws that have no benefit to society. If marijuana were legal you would immediately eliminate the illegal pot market and get rid of crime associated with pot money. You could also release from jail all those convicted from petty pot related offenses and cut the cost (with our tax dollars) of having to build new prisons to incarcerate normal people. Now because of mandatory drug sentencing laws, many states have to release violent offenders to make room for pot smokers. Pot has many other uses tho, like before the lumber industry lobbied congress to make pot illegal, marijuana (known as hemp) was the primary source of fiber for the production of paper. The UNITED STATES CONSTITION is printed on HEMP (or pot). With today’s technologies this fiber can be processed into construction materials that would replace wood products saving our beloved forest, and lowering the cost of construction while producing byproducts useful in making fuels to run cars and generate electricity. Hemp is a very useful plant and would be a major cash crop for farmers.
These two governors and a coacher have all been in favor of marijuana which I got from a very reliably website:
Governor Jesse Ventura of Minnesota - Governor Ventura, the first governor elected by the Reform Party, is the famous ex-wrestler/Navy Seal who is known for telling it like it is.
Governor Gary Johnson of New Mexico - The Republican governor has come out in favor of legalizing pot. This is an especially brave move for a Republican as the Republican Party has been especially abusive of Marijuana users.
Hugh Downs - ABC News 20/20 co-anchor and respected journalist for more than 60 years retired. On his last show he was asked if he had any opinions of his own that he'd like to express. He responded the marijuana should be legalized.
The time has come where we the people need to stand up to the government and tell them we are no longer going to put up with the jailing and oppression of marijuana and this artificial war on drugs! They teach that there are three branches of government which in fact there are four, the fourth being the people. The time has come for reasonable people to rise up against the government and force them to justify the reason for oppressing pot smokers. People in America have been to complacent for far to long and the time has come to stand up for your rights and beliefs and demand satisfaction.
