This petition has been created to request the legalization of UTV's or side-by-side vehicles for street use in The Village of Cerro Gordo. Golf carts are currently allowed to be used on public roadways in Cerro Gordo, IL without any major issues. Adding UTV's or side-by-side vehicles to similar ordinances has not created any additional issues for other area communities.

The use of UTV's or side-by-sides would allow residents to save on fuel costs when conducting in town travel versus driving their typical vehicles. These types of vehicles also permit travel during inclement weather. Additional vehicle registrations would provided added revenue for The Village. Having the ability to drive a longer range recreational vehicle will keep residents shopping locally for gas and other convenience items. Plus, owners are able to use UTV's or side-by-sides for multiple purposes on their property including landscaping, snow removal, general chores, etc.
