I am reaching out to you (the community) and request your effort to work toward the right of our LGBT community in helping us establish our right of marriage as an American in Alabama and allow you to see that we have the right of equality and life, liberty, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. While most heterosexuals marry more than once, our LGBT community of Alabama is not even allowed to marry once. I hope your values as Americans of this state help allow us to finally become equal and have our rights as Americans and allowing us to be free from persecution and discrimination. I request that we the people of Alabama have the right to vote on whether or not to allow gay marriages and/or recognized civil unions/partnerships. I attest that under the Constitution of The United States and The Declaration of Independence that my right as an American has been stripped and left me doubting the values of this country.
