Legalise Marijuana medicinally, and recreationally.

The facts are there:

1) Medicinal Marijuana use has been scientifically researched thoroughly, for helping patients with Alzheimers, PTSD (An over looked mental illness!), Potential in helping CANCER patients, Heart disease... The list goes on!

2) Colorado is a great example of a state in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA that has legalised recreational and medicinal use of cannabis. They haven't encountered any problems apart from a rise in the use of cannabis, which isn't entirely unexpected. More people are trying it and discovering its benefits. The money made by marijuana sales is re-invested into the community, meaning not only is the product benefiting you, but your money is being used PRODUCTIVELY!

3) Countries who have supported the use of Marijuana haven't noticed significant social problems, which would lead to the dismissal of it. In fact some places are THRIVING from it. Take Portugal for instance. Excluding the various other drugs that they have decriminalised, Drug use has dropped significantly, and drug related crimes have also dropped. Don't you think legalising Marijuana would have some effect to the drug related offences and effort required?

4) The costs involved in raiding "weed" farms and investigating into illegal dealing of the drug is ridiculous. Why isn't this money being spent on other more important things like, Schools, Hospitals, Community Centres.

5) If the government decided to legalise this medicinally, it would make a huge impact on the country as a whole. Patients suffering from the above illnesses would be getting the help they NEED, and not what the doctors decide to prescribe them which "Could" help them.

6) Furthermore, Imagine if Marijuana was made legal for recreational use as well? Well one clear point, would be jobs. Unemployment rates are supposedely being "Improved" at a "Increasing" rate, but currently, it just isn't showing in major parts of the UK. Involving an entire new industry into our economy will increase the amount of jobs available, in professions in all sectors! Primary, Secondary and Tertiary! There are minimal jobs in the primary sector in the UK anymore, some people aren't accustomed to working with customers directly and are so redirected to other job opportunities. Having opportunities to be assistants to grow operations, Trained growers, Management, Retail (Selling the product) the list goes on with the amount of professions that would be made available.

7) Continuing from the previous point would be business opportunities. Alongside a whole new industry comes a lot more MONEY. New businesses will be springing up out of nowhere with their own suppliers and brand. This would greatly improve the economy.

8) Suggestions I would personally make would be to use a percentage of profits made by these organisations, and fund community projects in the areas that they are present. This could mean Area Developments, Housing, Schools, Parks, Leisure Centres.

So far this is all I've got, But there are a ton more facts out there supporting what I have said, and even more facts that I haven't included in this petition.
