The legal drinking age in the United States is 21years of age. I would like to see a law passed which allows our United States Soldiers to purchase alcohol if they are under 21 years of age. I find it hard to believe that my son, who was 19 years old when he returned home from a year long tour of duty in Afghanistan was not allowed to go into a store and purchase a beer. I do not condone under age drinking but I do believe there should be an exception. I believe that if our soldiers are old enough to put their lives on the line and risk their safety defending our country then they have earned the right to purchase alcohol. Every soldier is issued a military ID and they should be allowed to purchase alcohol when they show this. It is time we treat these soldiers like the adults that they are.
