Name: Gemma Agar on Feb 21, 2005Comments: I think that the university should clear up the roumers and make an official announcement either way. I think they should have at least warned students that it could be a possibillity as many living close to Becketts have resigned housing contrascts, even though their rent has increased byFlag

Name: Stephanie Marsden on Feb 21, 2005Comments: Being a mature student and living 40 miles from leeds with no public transport, i selected leeds met so that i could drive in each day. Being based in town will cause me alot of hassle, as well as travelling time.Flag

Name: Sally Butterfield on Feb 21, 2005Comments: i have arranged my house for next year around the fact that i will be studying at becketts park campus. if it moves this will be of a major inconvenience and even more unneccessary expense to me, and all of the people on my course, who i also know have chosen houses to be close to becketts. this choice of university has been because of the campus.Flag

Name: Rachel Stubbs on Feb 21, 2005Comments: One of the main reasons I came to Leeds Met was because of the Becketts Park Campus. I have signed a contract for a house next year in Headingley, a relocation to the City Campus would cost more in travel expenses, had I been aware I would have obtained a house nearer to the City site. It will also be difficult for me to commute between my course and my sport (tennis), which is situated at Becketts Park.Flag

Name: Joanna Wrigley on Feb 22, 2005Comments: The move will disrupt all the students due to the library staying at Becketts Park and also students have already signed contracts for housing in headingley! there will be no parking facilities in the centre of leeds and many students will have to pay for parking.Flag

Name: Brenda Brougham on Feb 22, 2005Comments: I think it is a disgrace that students or teachers have not been consulted on this matter. I definitely do not want to move to city as I have already signed for my house next year in Headingley and don't need the extra expense or travelling time.Flag

Name: Robert Pearson on Feb 23, 2005Comments: The lack of any information, let alone consultation, on this issue is scandalous. The only "information" we have had is rumour through one of our tutors. All other information has followed specific requests for information. In other words, without either rumour or actively seeking the truth of the situation, our seminar group (10) would have heard nothing of the proposed move. This has led to uncertainty regarding housing as many of us who wanted to live in Headingley would face a bus journey or a long walk. The VC has showed a flagrant disregard for the feelings, education and welfare of law students students over this issue.Flag

Name: Vikki Crossley on Feb 25, 2005Comments: Many students have already signed for houses that are near to Beckett Park for ease and convenience! Do they honestly think that this is a good idea Why would we all want to go down to the City Campus which is already crowded as it isFlag

Name: Haroon Qayum on Mar 2, 2005Comments: I am not in favour of this move. Fistly, no appropriate notice has been given to students, especially first year students who have been accommodated in Halls and have now found houses nearer to Becketts Park. I would consider myself as a prime example as I have been living in The centre of leeds for my firsty year and have had to travel to Becketts Park every day at the cost ofFlag

Name: Toni McCann on Mar 2, 2005Comments: I don't agree with the move from Beckett park to the City! I am renting a house in Headingly and have been renting this house since moving to leeds to study law at Leeds Met. I want to continue living in this house as not only is it convenient for me to get into University quite easily, but i have enjoyed my stay here also. Moving into the city campus is a waste of time. We haven't even been officially told of the move and i can assure you that both staff and students (whom i have spoken to about this move) are unhappy about it. But speaking on my own behalf i have been told that there will be a learning center in this new building but no cafeteeria or no decent place where we as students can pass the time between lessons. I am obviously aware that the city has plenty of places to dine but they are also costly and with the added costs to me ofFlag

Name: Maria Bagnall on Mar 14, 2005Comments: I am disappointed that Leeds Met have decided to do this especially as it has been so sneaky, many people will not even know yet! We have already signed for a house in Headingley costing more than other areas nearer the city and now we will have to travel miles and pay for extra bus fare! What about the people that drive here too, where will they park The whole thing is a complete joke and is all about money for the greedy VC and every person I have spoken to about it is against it.Flag

Name: Claire Boddy on Mar 14, 2005Comments: I think it is an absolute disgrace the way Leeds Met have handled the move of the Law School. We have still not been told what is going on. We attended the meeting with the Dean to try and gain some information only to find the meeting had been cancelled without any notice. My housemates and I have just signed for a house in Headingley so that we could walk to uni only to find that we are no longer at Becketts Park. I am staying in Leeds to do the LPC. After the unprofessional manner in which Leeds Met have handled this issue, I would much rather study at the BPP who have a much higher reputation.Flag
