Major League Baseball has been around for over 100 years and over that time has developed quite a little following (to say the least). These fans have a certain nostalgia invested in this game that is slowly being ripped away by meddling commissioners slowly, but surely imposing their will.

It started with the ability to challenge an umpire's call on the field. So why even put them out there? Their decisions no longer have any meaning. Then the rule to avoid collisions at home plate. Ironically, catchers are more afraid than ever. Not that they'll get bowled over, but that they may lose a game because their foot was in the wrong place when they caught the ball.

Now "Pace Of Game Initiatives"? For a detailed look at the latest debacle follow this ridiculously long link...

In a nutshell, players must now keep a foot in the batters box at ALL TIMES, and pitchers are subject to a time limit during warm up pitches. Are we watching little league baseball? One of the great things about baseball is that THERE IS NO CLOCK. Kiss that goodbye.

Sure, every fan yells at the TV when the ump misses a call, or moans a little when Clay Buchholtz takes the mound or Troy Tulowitzki steps into the box, that "It's gonna be a long game..", but that's the game we love. That's the game we chose to watch, and that game is changing.

It hardly looks like baseball anymore. Pace of game? How 'bout managers slowly walking out from the dugout to buy time while his bench coach reviews a play to see if it's worth a challenge?

This petition will be sent to commissioner Rob Manfred in an attempt to impress upon him, the shear amount of fans opposed to these changes. Maybe then commissioners will ignore those who complain "You know, I'd probably watch baseball, if it wasn't so SLOW." These aren't baseball fans. If you don't like it, go watch a hockey game.
