   Tell us how you support Learning4Life: The Westwood Regional School District media center programs through a certified Media Specialist to support instruction across the curriculum by providing access to informational technology resources and instructing students in the information literacy skills needed for the 21st century. • To facilitate a lifelong love of reading students and to support research students are provided opportunities to explore a wide variety of literature and informational text. • To facilitate student information literacy skills, instruction is provided that is appropriate for each grade level and meets the needs of individual students or classes. • To facilitate an ethical and productive use of technology students are provided with the instruction and tools necessary to be responsible users of the Internet and media tools. • To facilitate student achievement across the curriculum the media specialist works with classroom teachers to provide resources and instruction that supports teachers’ efforts to achieve the objectives within each content area. • To foster community connections the school library media center seeks out opportunities to collaborate with local public libraries and other organizations on common initiatives. • To develop the most effective and efficient use of media center resources efforts are made to assure that the most up to date and relevant resources are acquired are available. • To facilitate the use of the latest technology and media center resources the media specialist seeks out opportunities to provide staff development to teachers in their content areas where applicable.
