| 2416 | Kerstin Behrens-Bolt | My son has fragile x and also falls on the autism spectrum. He does not get more than 2.5 hours of in school support a day. He is not progressing as he did when he had one on one support with his autism funding during pre-school. We have been told that he cannot stay at school during lunch because there is no support for him. How are two parents who work full time supposed to pick up there child for 1 hour in the middle of the day? This education system is inadequate. The Provinces Special Education Polices state that "Students with special needs should have their needs identified in a timely way, have these needs assessed in a comprehensive manner, and receive an APPROPRIATE respone to those strengths and needs in the delivery of educational programs for them." You have failed my son in every way! |

What will become of him without supporting his learning disability? |

| 2431 | Corina Brearley | In this age of budget surplus, where is the help for this growing section of students???? We need to get a grip on it NOW, since this isn't going away. Numbers are growing, so should the budget for these kids. |

| 2434 | Brandi Stovman | Lets Give our special needs kids all the same educational standards that a typical child would receive. |
| 2435 | Cris Stovman | The key to education of our children regardless of ability or disability would be to educate all the children the same. |
| 2436 | Rosemary Carter | I recently discovered that i have the gift of dyslexia. i am 53 years old and it would have been of benefit for me, to have had help when i was at school. |
| 2437 | Anonymous | I have three special needs sons, one of whom was totally supported within the school system. My second son has been unable to attend school due to behavioural issues. The school's way of handling him is to send him home until he can learn to control himself (he has severe ADHD and FASD). My youngest son also has FASD and received no support in the school system so I have been home schooling him for the last three years and will continue to do so until our school distirct realizes that some of these children need to be taught in a different environment. |
| 2438 | Darlene Cramer | A child with a severe speech inpariment receives sees a speech pathologist for 1/2 an hour weekly (if we are lucky). This is not acceptable!!! How are they expected to improve with such little time? |

| 2442 | Doris Bruneau | My son has been diagnosed with a SLD. I have several nephews who suffer from this diagnosis as well. The government must recognize that these children are intelligent, but need a lot of support. All SLD should have laptops with a program such as Kurzweil to help them to keep up to their classmates, not free Heroin when they get discouraged and start taking drugs!!

| 2446 | Sheena McDonald | Every student should have a RIGHT to an education but in Vancouver I have two sons who have been driven out of the system becasue there is nothing to meet their needs. These are people with Autsim and Learning disabilities who have so much to offer! Why is it that the system has NOTHING to offer them! What happen to the right to an education?
