| 401 | Aisling Knight | I support the comments that have been made. It is a real shame that even staff that will benefit from the Job Evalution process will be left with a bitter taste knowing they will be rewarded whilst others face devastation. |
| 402 | Deka Adan | False hope was given during initial meetings with the Job Evaluation team. -It was thought that the feedback obtained would be considered. As a result of the outcome of the JE many council workers feel undervalued and unappreciated. If this trend continues people will be forced to look elsewhere for employment and wage security. |

| 404 | Anonymous | I think it's very unfair that certain groups have been targetted this way! I am undertaking an NVQ LEVEL 4 gaining more skills and have been demoted to a lower pay scale. I want to question the authorities commitment to Investing In People! As a Personal Advisor helping Ethnic Minority groups into work I feel I do a valauble job and have more nearly 7 years working providing advice, information and guidance to clients to get them into work.
Within our project the Personal Advisors all earn different salaries and yet we do the same job! I have lost out by thousands who have been paid more! |
| 405 | Andrea Doyle | I think the new grading system is an insult. Not only do we always have to wait for nearly half a year for our cost of living rise but now most of us are going to have to take a pay cut too! How are we supposed to survive with the cost of living going up all the time. |

| 407 | Anonymous | i feel that the consultation and information sharing has been inadequate. It is unfair how salaries have gone down, people live within their means and this is going to affect staff, and family life for many people. |
| 408 | Jayne Paterson | About to loose £3000 and I recently received a long-service award too! My committment to LCC was without question.
Message to Ian McBride et al - If you are, like me, committed to the provision of excellent services for the people of Leicester this needs dedicated experienced staff to stay around. There is no shame in admitting that the process was flawed -let's work on putting this right otherwise the consequences are there for all to see. |
| 409 | Anonymous | Last year we were runners up in the Best Practice Awards, this year most of the team has had their pay slashed by up to £8,000 p.a. under new Job Evaluation System... How does this work out? |

| 422 | Vijaya Sudra | I am all for fair salaries for low paid worker but feel that it is really unfair to do so at the expanse of other hard working employees of the Council. In todays climate of inflation and increased morgage repayments this deceision by the Council is bound to affact many families of your employees and they stand to lose their homes. I hope you will revoke your decision and reinstate these Council employees to their original salaries. |
| 423 | Anonymous | I agree with many of the comments already posted.
My particular concerns are firstly that the scheme doesn't properly value the work of many office based staff and secondly that it has not been implemented consistently. Similar posts across the Council (e.g. in Finance teams) have been graded differently in different departments and sections. Neither the JE Team nor the unions are willing to recognise this as a fact and do something about it. It is unacceptable that people should have to use the appeals process (as proposed by the Council and regrettably supported by UNISON and GMB) when it is clear that the new bands are not consistent and that some staff have done better than others by virtue of the way the JAQ was written or how it was scored. It is putting unfair and unnecessary pressure on individuals, and also their managers who are powerless to do anything about it. |
| 424 | Anonymous | I totally disagree with the pay cuts. |
| 425 | Anonymous | It seems really unfair to have paycuts. Leicester City Council is here to help and serve the residents of the City, yet it can't even manage to help all of its own staff and workforce! That gives us faith in the organisation doesn't it?? |

| 427 | Anonymous | I'm all for equal pay but now I'm an unequal paid worker, so LCC what are you going to do about that?
Stop this process now and get it right otherwise myself, like many others won't be sticking around and putting up with this insulting pay! |
| 428 | Paul Standley | So many things annoy me with this that I don’t quite know where to start, so I’ll just rattle a few off whilst I wait for my medication to kick in.
1. The inconsistency in information which is willingly handed out. To date I’ve received three letters each stating a different band for my post. It concerns me deeply to see such a level of incompetency operating on a matter as sensitive as this.
2. The lack of anyone you can turn to for help, reassurance or even an apology for the publication of this misinformation. I hear a rumour that there’s a helpline you can call for when you lay there awake at night worrying about all this, but I’ve never been told the number.
3. My union’s stance on this whole process. Do they really expect me to join with their satisfaction for there being three winners for every looser? This is the best of the lot as I get the impression that we’ve all been abandoned by the union, well at least the subscriptions will be lower.
4. The lack of a proper and thorough system for the dissemination of information. Most the information I obtain is via chance conversations with colleagues who happen to mention something useful in passing. This includes this petition by the way.
5. The assumption that all employees adversely affected by this will continue to provide their current level of service and commitment. In September we attended a staff conference where we were encouraged to ‘go the extra mile’, I coughed then.
6. I live in the City and as a resident I do worry about the detrimental effect this will have on my services.
7. The complete lack of guidance offered when completing the JAQ. The implications of the JAQ were never made clear and no guidance was offered as to how it would be scored. I’ve gained extra responsibilities since drafting my JAQ, but according to the appeals process that’s just tough.
8. The minimal effect the interview had on the final JAQ. I get the distinct impression that the interviews were held just because they were part of the process.
I’d love to talk this though with someone steeped in the JE process. As I mentioned I am in receipt of three letters which indicate a banding over a wide range, so I could be making a fuss over nothing on this one as one of these offers was quite promising. Nevertheless I’d still like a reply to the above as I’m also mightily aggrieved on behalf of my colleagues. I’ve added my name to this just in case anyone wants to discuss the matters raised but, as outlined in point 2, I don’t hold much hope. |
| 429 | Anonymous | This situation actually manages to suck and blow and the same time.
As a recent arrival at the council I must say that I am less than impressed that the job and salary I applied for and obtained is suddenly being overridded by a bunch of faceless suits who just want to peform a cost cutting excersise so a spreadsheet somewhere is in the black.
Are they going to guarantee that my family will have a roof over their heads when they kindly drop my salary, I don't think so.
Not impressed |

| 432 | Keith Barsby | The reward for 16 years of service, a 20% reduction in pay. |
| 433 | Andrew Walton | Please don't be Scrooge at Christmas time with staff pay - council workers are overstretched as they are. The single status agreement should not leave staff out of pocket.
(From an NHS worker who is currently appealing against an Agenda for Change pay freeze and knows where they are coming from). |
| 434 | Nick Parker | Giving low paid workers a pay rise by taking it off other low paid workers is like robbing Peter to pay Paul. |

| 438 | Yatish Shah | Skilled and experienced staff have started to leave the City Council to work for Primary Care Trust and other public sector employers in the City. |
| 439 | Harminder Basra | The whole JE process has been badly managed from the beginning with delay after delay . The inconsistencies and accuracies in how the information has been disseminated has created further anguish and distrust.
There are mainly loyal employees who work over and beyond their job requirements without any expectation of reward, soley because they have pride in their work . Given our commitment and dedication, it is grossly unfair to cut pay and expect the same standard of service to be maintained. Many colleagues have already successfully sought employment elsewhere and the loss of this valuable experience to the Council will be felt long after the "Single Status" programme has expired. Remember we are asking for Equal pay for Equal work, not more pay for less work. I hope many more will sign this petition. |
| 440 | K Gibson | Raise pay and get rid of unequalities, but don't do it at the expense of others and then underfund the whole exercise so that service cuts become inevitable. |

| 442 | Anonymous | This cannot be allowed to happen!! |
| 443 | Geoff Whittle | I am particularly unhappy to find myself re-deployed into a post in April at a salary determined by an evaluation process and then almost immediately to find the salary downgraded with effect from July as a result of a different evaluation process that must have been taking place at the same time! |
| 444 | Anonymous | Library Assistants responsibilities and current duties have been deliberately blocked and ignored
by senior management to stop us from gaining the correct points to achieve grade 3 level! As an example, we have been allocated 2 points out of a possible 8 for knowledge and skills! Are they not aware of public expectancy, needs and demands! I'm discusted by the outcome! In my opinion the evaluation process should have been implemented independantly! It was a foregone conclusion! - Simply cannot aford to pay us! |

| 446 | Anonymous | I cannot see any remarks from our trade unions for whom we all pay a monthly amount for their support. Also has anyone request support for their union. No matter if your losing salary like myself £4000 a year or your gaining a increased salary this scheme in dividing each section into non intergrating services. We are employees who take pride in our working conditions and always take on extra duties which indeed take extra working hours outside work for nothing. One thing is for sure that if i do lose £4000 i shall only work as my job description states.if senior management think the words OTHER DUTIES on my job description means i shall be required to complete other job duties.I shall query every request which is asked under OTHER DUTIES.
I request our senior management to relise that this scheme is failing all over the country and to cease it before its to late.Come on Leicester City Council don't stick you head in the sand. |
| 447 | S Chapman | Is this not typical? For many years the DSO have been short shifted on realistic timescales for jobs so that their bonus is affected. Staff morale is the pits at shop floor level which often is reflected in how they deal with the clients. I wish you all the best. |

| 450 | Anonymous | The whole Single Pay Status is a Big JOKE!!! Whoever implemented such an idea has not only caused distress and anxiety for those that have been affected, but LCC will be losing all experienced staff with specialist skills to other organisations as they have been left with no alternative but to apply for other positions that pay well with other public sectors, just to make ends meet. Is this what the LCC really wants? Do they really want to lose skilled and experienced staff where alot of time, cost and energy has been invested? Think again, otherwise you could be creating further costs to the Council not reducing costs....Also, where did the consideration go for Clerical/Admin staff who run and keep the services running??? How would a service run without Admin/Clerical staff, yet it is ok to cut their salaries, when they don't even get paid enough to start with, considering the amount of work they do??? In my opinion, The Single Pay Status needs to be scrapped, its not done anyone any favours, but caused more misery across the whole of the Council instead! Is this what we want to see, because if it is, then LCC will be anominated for the WORST AWARDS!!! |
