501 Kieran HoeyMore people are losing out than has been claimed. I have lost two increments, my partner is facing a huge cut in her salary and this will have a significant impact on our family. It seems that LCC hasn't thought about staff retention or morale, this will lead to a decline in motivation and a poorer service for the citizens of Leicester. I was proud to work for this authority once upon a time, but feel that the political leadership have let us all down. Am sure that they won't be taking a cut, indeed I understand the council leader will be getting a significant rise.!!

504 rwbaileyWe in the special needs transport side of regeneration and culture dept have been hit with a double whamey in as much as they are reducing our working hours at the same time, resulting in a loss of approx £3500 per year AND for that privilage we have to work an extra 5 weeks (currently our contract requires us to have 5 weeks off in a year WITHOUT pay ...a contract which was forced on us 2 years ago which the management say now does not work........surprise...surprise...

There is a siginficant number of employees whose job have not been evaluated according to their qualfications and experience. If the experienced and qualified staff would leave council it will certainly loose experienced work force which will ultimately affect the quality of work and customers will suffer in the end.

I feel very depressed by what is happening. If I win the lottery they wont see me again. Sod loyalty! It does not pay to be conscientious with this employer!

519 Vipul NaranThe evaluation process is flawed and and reliant on the job evaluator understanding the tasks undertaken by the post holder. Without understanding the workings of the department and the jobs undertaken, how can the evaluator make a recommendation to the grading?
520 Birmingham city CouncilIts seems that the unions across the uk have let all local authority staff down - when did they consult staff to agree to this ? - would any of us voted for this? - like you many staff in birmingham face cuts in pay from £2000 up to 6 people £35,000 - they are all people with houses, homes and children to raise....... you would think this is 1800s not 2008 ..... we are taking industrial action on 5th February..... it should be a national strike...as we must support others across the country........ we must use our only right left and vote out the Labour party..... the party for the working class- what a joke ...... 524 Victoria WhiteI know for a fact that very senior managers have argued for managers in their service to have their JE grades increased and this has been done. Some departments are still doing reorganisations and so the jobs that were re-evaluated under the JE scheme don't exist any more. However, the new jobs have not been touched. Further more, do staff realise that only those on APT&C grades are affected? Staff who are on so called professional grades, i.e. those working in Education Advisory services or in Social Services have not been affected. Even though some of these staff are not doing professional jobs. This is not a fair and equal council and the unions are weak, this is how they are getting away with treating staff in this shoddy manner. In the end Leicester' services will lose out because people will leave the council, as many are already doing. Is this council still an "Investor in People"? I really hope that, as well as taking industrial action, affected staff consider sueing the council under a class action. Of course, senior manager won't care about the possibility of this at the moment. Just wait until the time comes though. How much is this really likely to cost the council and the people of Leicester?

527 AnonJE has been done in Corporate Directors name and they could have stopped it at any time. If, like me, you face a pay cut, I urge you to write to your Corporate Director and ask them why Corporate Directors Board didn't put a halt to the whole process.
528 Brian GarritySingle status is required but the way this scheme has been implemented with the Project Manager admitting that in some cases it was unfair and did not take into account the complexities in some jobs is nothing short of disgraceful. Despie knowing this both the employer and some ignorant union officials are trying to railroad this through.
529 GEOFFREY ALESBROOKI think it is an absolute disgrace that we are being asked to accept a pay freeze for 2 years and then a pay cut when the same people that have voted for this have just awarded themselves a massive 37% pay rise.
530 peter'The evaluation process is flawed' - this is a recurring theme - would be good if someone could appeal to the European court - if an evaluation says someone with nvq 4 (eg accountancy) is worth less than nvq 2 (eg care worker) - and that you CANNOT appeal against their decision ( which is plainly weighted to protect them against equal pay claims fron female workers) , is this not an infringement of your rights ?

536 glewisi entirely agree that this should not be allowed to happen. All or nothing, some should not benefit at the detriment of others. We must make a stance against this injustice, we cannot lay down and let them kick us.
537 mark whitingi was given a lower job title and a pay cut while other workers who served less time were given a pay rise i am down £350 a month. my council tax has gone up as my partner has moved in, and we now have two children.
