| 451 | Jean Spence | Has anyone considered the effects of the proposed changes on the users of the services in Leicester? |

| 453 | anita | How do you explain to your children why you are not such a happy person as you used to be when a 10 year old asks you that directly.? Do i try and explain why her quality of life will have to change? Why the house you've just moved into may not be your home in a few years? No, you put a brave face on it and try and make the best of a bad situation for the sake of the people you come to work for. i needed more than that though. i needed to know that i was valued by my employer. Thank goodness my work takes me out into the local community, where my work is valued, because at the moment i need something to keep me going, and thanks to the local authority that isnt them. I hope 2008 will encourage the decision makers to see sense in as much as they are going to lose a lot of good employees should they continue to follow the path you are currently taking. Investors in people..... Think about that statement and what it really means, to the authority, and to your staff because at the moment i think the meaning of that statement means different things. |
| 454 | Anonymous | Happy 2008 -forecast -de moralised staff ,lack of appreciation for every ones skills and knowledge.
Link this to an unfair system and 2008 doesn't look good. |

| 457 | Lisa Guest | I was due to lose:
£5,928 per annum!!!!!!
which potentially due to working my way up spinal points would have been £7,566 if I was at the top of my scale!
I have worked at my job for LCC for over 7 years and loved it. I say "loved" past tense as I have now gone and got myself a new job JUST because of this nightmare with wages.
My personal circumstances are that my husband was recently made redundant and as I am now the main wage earner I have NO CHOICE but to leave an area I am skilled and trained in.
The new job I have gone to is with LCC but due to this situation I will only lose
£3,513 a year
What a brucie bonus!!! Still must not grumble as its better than the previous £5,928!!!
Skilled employees leaving a post they love and have done for over 7years because they have to choose between the lesser of two pay cuts.......Well done to the Job evaluation process!! |
| 458 | Anonymous | Although I'm not effected directly with regards to salary the fact that the scales have been reduced to 9 has produced anomalies such as people on a lower scale at present will be on the same scale as the Officers supervising them. How can this be right? |
| 459 | Lorraine Dixon | We have been downgraded and believe this is totally unfair. |

| 466 | Jo Ramkissoon | I totally disapprove of a process where any member of staff is forced to take a paycut without a change in their responsibilities. I cannot begin to imagine the level of grief and worry this is causing to individuals and their families who have made lifestyle choices and commitments based upon their promised salaries. It is wrong for any employer to cause this level of chaos in people's lives. |

| 469 | Anonymous | I have worked for Leicester City Council for 30 years. I certainly never had high expectations of Local Government as an employer other than it would always honour committment to loyal staff. How sad is it in 2008 that any employer large or small thinks it has the right to downgrade salaries. Any shortfall in funding is due to poor management. |
| 470 | Helga Lenga | Second time within 10 years I have been downgraded and, as a single wage earner with a mortgage/bills/cost of living to pay, this will have an adverse effect on my financial stabillity and also the final outcome of my pension. |
| 471 | James Thornton | |
| 472 | Cynthia Mackay | The whole TE process is a very bad joke. It is so unfair to many groups or workers. It isa flawed process and one that perhaps the Ombudman ought to look at once the appeals have takenplace. Unless of council drws back from the disitrous process. Disastrous not only for council staff but also for service users. |

| 475 | Anonymous | I whole heartedly agree that a fairly paid sustainable workforce within Leicester city council cannott be accieved this way.Leicester city council is going to lose incredibaly valuable staff through this proposal and as usual will not realise the ramifications untill its way to late.By all means pay people fairly but not at the expense of their colleagues salaries. |
| 476 | CHRISTOPHER FREEMAN | HOW CAN YOU PAY SOMEONE THE SAME WAGES FOR THE LAST SEVENTEEN YEARS AND THEN REDUCE THERE SALARY. DURING THAT TIME THE STAFFING LEVELS HAVE BEEN REDUCED BY 50% . WORK HARDER FOR LESS PAY I DONT THINK SO? |

| 479 | Anonymous | It seems to me JE has benefited who are at the very bottom of the pay scale (which is a good thing) BUT also JE has benefited greatly those who are at top of scale - Management (which doesn't seem right and a bad thing). So those people who are in the middle like myself and many others seems have got the short straw ie NO benefits. I thought the purpose of this JE was put everbody at even par. Looking at it seems the (as always) the mangement better off!!!! |

motivational theroy is certainly downgraded.

| 494 | Anonymous | I have never felt so de-moralised and de-motivated. I have taken on extra responsibility with no extra pay. I now have to suffer the indignity of taking a pay cut. As a single person with a single income, with a home and the usual bills to pay, I will no doubt suffer hardship with the higher cost of living balanced against a loss of pay. What planet are they on? |
| 495 | Alex Paterson | 'Equal Pay' should not be used as an excercise in cutting costs. |
| 496 | Stani Jadowska | |
| 497 | Joanna Morton | 20 years loyal service,20 years experience, 7 years studying to gain ONC, HNC Bsc(Hons) so the council can benefit from my hard work and loyality, and they reward me with a pay cut of £2500.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH LCC FOR NOTHING!! |
