Lawrence Snow Shen was a senior at Desert Mountain High school. On December 12th 2011, Lawrence took his own life. We want to honor Lawrence Shen at our graduation, however the Administer and SUSD board does feel it is "appropriate" to honor him. Lawrence was a huge part of the Senior Class, and deserves some recognition. Currently, the school plans on not mentioning his name at graduation at all, just a simple moment of silence for everyone who has lost someone. I would like to start a petition to have myself (Mackenzie Stevens) give a 2 mintue speech at graduation in order to TRULY honor Lawrence. If not his name simply being stated would serve as justice.
