Hi everyone, I would like to go to city hall and request that they name the wooden area of Mackie Park after Laura Szendreis Memory. As most people across Canada have heard about the brutal death of beautiful 15 year old Laura Szendrei I am asking you to please sign this petition so we can honor Laura's name. Many friends & family will drive by this park and always remember what happened here, so let's take it back. I know this has affected more than just her family & friends, the whole community is heartbroken.

RIP Laura Szendrei

We will ask to have all trees trimmed, underbrush cut down, etc, but we would also like an Infinity path (an endless path) put in, maybe some benches a community garden, lights, for safety and we hope to rename THAT SECTION of the park after Lauras memory. Hopefully this way, Laura can be remembered and still be a big part of our community!   I spoke with Laura's mom today and the Szendrei family is behind us =)

The momentum behind this is undeniable and it proves that this community refuses to let the city ignore what happened to Laura. City Hall thinks they can just sweep this under the rug but the tide is turning and they will have no choice but to listen to us.

Good idea. It would be a nice tribute for her family.

About time. That area has been neglected for way too long. Let's make it a place where people actually feel safe again.

Such a sweet girl. This is a beautiful way to keep her memory alive and make the park safer for everyone.

The park feels so dark now. Cleaning it up and naming it after her is the right thing to do. RIP Laura.

WE NEED LIGHTS IN THERE!! Can't believe it took something this tragic to make people care about safety in the woods.
