Comments: We live in a nation that is in a cultural state of poverty. The modern forms of music were not created in a vacuum. Please preserve the aforementioned Grammy Awards. We need to continue to bring to light the music of our past that created our present and the advancements in those genres that continue to push today's artists. Thank you.

FOREVER LATIN JAZZ AND THEIR ARTISTS !

Comments: I feel there is not enough being done over the lack of real rnb and hip hop music in general, poor tv coverage, if I'm lucky I may see one per day. It's mainly dance and pop music in place of the two genres pointed out above. Non existence for Jazz and World music(reggae, soca). I am based in the Uk and I would expect a little showing of all genres.

Comments: Afro-Latin and Caribbean music is at the core of all North American (read U.S.) based musical activities, since the birth of the nation. It figures big time in the development of jazz, funk, pop at all levels of structural influence and historical evolution. It is a matter of RESPECT to its contributions to all of Western popular music to include it in the GRAMMY ceremonies, and treat Latin Jazz artists in particular not as appendix but as core contributors and guardians of this ongoing process of cultural interaction. Comments: While they've actually reinstated the Latin Jazz Grammy Award two and a half months ago, which is a good thing, I'd like to see the NARAS reinstate ALL categories, and also add new ones.

Comments: At one time jazz was voted on by a knowledgeable committee who would listen to every record. Now it is nothing but a popularity contest, not based on talent but interest from the lowest common denominator. Major record labels have NARAS memberships for their employees and are told who to vote for. This is one of the main reasons I gave up my NARAS membership. The second reason is the terrible Grammy TV broadcast. They cater to rappers with their pants falling down - that's not music. Just do the right thing and be classy about it.

Comments: I support this petition with all my heart. I wondered how the heart/integrity, brain, or even common sense of the people that have caused/allowed this petition to become necessary has a allowed them to do so! I cannot come up with a legit reason, and the other type I do not want really want to think.

Comments: The grammy's need to realize that Latin Jazz has been around since long before I, or even my parents have been around! How can U possibly even think about removing such an icon of musical style??? Latin Jazz IS truly an enjoyable form of music, part of history, & enjoyed by many! If u want to get rid of a category - look at Rap-crap to eliminate! Or dance techno...what is that besides whining & thumping. Latin Jazz....is beautiful MUSIC!
