Studys show that middle schoolers are developing and need just as much sleep as a newborn baby! And their hormones are kicking in at 11 o'clock and stopping at 8am, most middle schoolers would be well into 1st period. Some schools have already done this and it has resulted in higher first period grades. Is 7:42am too early to start school-I Say Yes!!! Please Sign My Petition!!!

im still pushing for this because i keep hearing from tired kids who are basically sleepwalking through their first few classes. it honestly feels like we are just fighting against a clock that doesnt want to change but your stories keep me motivated to keep going.

i cant believe how many people are finally waking up to the fact that starting school this early is insane. the momentum keeps building and it really shows the district that we arent going to just let this go anymore.

my son is a zombie every morning by the time he gets on the bus. he can barely keep his eyes open until 10am. it makes no sense to start this early.

SO TRUE!!! its a struggle to even get my daughter out of bed. shes constantly sick and tired from the lack of sleep.

7:42 is way too early. kids are grumpy and exhausted. let them sleep in a little and watch the grades go up.
