Name: Anonymous on May 24, 2007Comments: Hear hear! As a fluent English speaker, I too have had occasional issues communicating with local law enforcement officers. I have been fortunate to be able to clarify situations when needed. If my English language skills were not so strong (I have a BA in English), or if conditions were critical and time of the essence, overcoming the misperceptions of public service providers might end badly, or worse.

Please develop and implement a policy that will guarantee that all residents of San Francisco, regardless of nationality and language ability, will feel safe their own city.
