2012 Olympic Mountain Biking at Langdon Hills

The petition

We, the undersigned, believe that Langdon Hills Country Park would be an ideal location for the 2012 Olympic mountain bike venue. The Park already hosts an annual mountain bike race and has the potential to develop a course that would provide a sufficient physical and technical challenge for the World's best riders.

The Park is easily accessed from the A13 and has nearby rail links into Central London. The is also more than adequate space for parking and spectator facilities.

With the forthcoming Thames Gateway development this would be a fantastic opportunity to develop greater recreational opportunities for the local community.

We therefore urge that Essex County Council, LOCOG, British Cycling and other responsible bodies give this location their full consideration during their search for a suitable Essex venue.
