Comments: Isn't it enough that the ugly building next to it was permitted to go up? Now they have to demolish that little beauty too? What's the point... pure greed??

Comments: As a longtime resident of the Bowery and an artist, I urge the Landmarks Commission to act decisively in preserving this gem of a building with such an illustrious past. Bearing witness to the rapid destruction of historic neighborhood like the Bowery should serve to renew your zeal to seize the moment and protect this house. Thank you for assuring New Yorkers they can count on you to preserve their history.

Comments: The charming Federal style 35 Cooper Square is the oldest structure on Cooper Square. Because Cooper Square is one of the most iconic and well known town squares in the city, 35 Cooper Square is thus one of the area's most precious historic resources.

Comments: A must save piece of the true lower Manhattan/Cooper Square atmosphere... at the rate developers are running rampant we will live in frozen canyons without light or air before long... just too many too tall new towers all over Downtown Manhattan (Cooper Square/Village/and SOHO!). Landmark Preservation on a building saving level is needed now more than ever... not just making owners repairs a nightmare, but actually saving buildings!

Comments: if this community and its politicians do not protect its history and culture - like is done in the west village and the upper west side - then the whole place will be taken over by new oversized boutique hotels, privat school dorms, market rate residential bldgs and banks.

Comments: As I received notice that 35 Cooper Square's fate is about to be met with a wrecking-ball, I write to implore members of the Landmarks Preservation Commission to think carefully before it sanctions the demise of 35 Cooper Square to the dustpan of history. Its many creative occupants and their contributions to the Arts and New York must be treasured not destroyed for just another contemporary behemoth. Do the right thing: protect 35 Cooper Square by rightfully designating it as a New York City Landmark.
