Comments: NFL needs to clean up the league. The Chicago Bears are consistently enabling their players to break the law and set a bad example. Whether it is Tank Johnson spending time in jail for his offenses, Urlacher not paying his child support, or Lance Briggs fleeing the scene of an accident.

Comments: Without question, due process in in order with Briggs and the decisions he made that night/early morning. That said, the part that distubs me - angers me - is the cavalier message from Lovie Smith and Bears' executives. The fans and the media have a right to ask questions here. Where were you going to or coming from Who was with you Were drugs or alcohol involved Who picked you up and drove you home What was so important that you felt compelled to leave your $400,000 vehicle - unlocked and with the keys in place As a parent, we ask such questions. As an employer, I ask such questions. Fans need to know who or what they are supporting. Lovie was delighted to have his image revered during the Super Bowl. This does nothing but tarnish it.

Comments: This guy most likely had been drinking and driving. If not, then he's a terrible driver, and a guy who makes awful decisions. If that's the case, he should get 4-6 games. If alcohol WAS involved, then he should get 8 games or more. What he did could have turned into a Leonard Little, where a woman was killed by a drunk driver. Don't say it couldn't have happened. I'm sure Briggs didn't want to smash up his car. The Packers Koren Robinson is on a one-year suspension and he never hit anybody when he drove drunk. Ban Briggs for a year. Plus the Bears coach shrugged it off like it was no bog deal, and he's the same one who gave Tank Johnson too many chances and got burnt.

Comments: Although the league has done a much better job at handing out suspensions this year they still haven't started to put the hammer down on things like this. I don't care if he panicked, a crime is a crime. He probably was exceeding the speed limit far beyond normal situations and also had to have been driving dangerously in his $350,000+ car for the wreck to be that serious. He should have owned up to his mistake and waited for authorities to arrive. He already admitted to driving the car, so the hammer should come down on him as well. At least a game suspension.

Comments: Briggs should be jailed for filing a false stolen car report. He already got lucky to not get a dui. He's just like Tank Johnson, a reprehensible player that will bring the Bears down again.

Comments: It is rediculous to even think that Mr. Briggs wasn't up to something. The two charges that are against him now are alot better then a DWI or whatever else he was up to at 3:00 AM.

Comments: Briggs is a bad seed. He said 7 million a year was not enough to support his family and that he would have to take out a loan to survive. I guess his family translates into $275,000.00 cars. What a tool!

Comments: The real reason he left the scene was he was guility of driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. By the time he spoke with the cops, he was no longer under the influence. He ran like this because an arrest for DUI would have garnered him a suspension...so suspend him anyway...he is guilty.

Comments: Most states I believe i is a felony to flee the scene of an accident. If he broke the rules of law, that goes against league policy. One player cannot have preference over another...then Vick might as well play opening day.
