Ealing Council is looking to restructure of the play service including consulting the users of Lammas Park play centre about its closure. Petition closed but consultation open now open http://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/200628/current_consultations/1954/consultation_on_lammas_park_play_centre_services

See: http://www.ealing.gov.uk/news/article/1117/cabinet_to_consider_heart-breaking_budget

We, the undersigned, know these cuts will harm the communities that Ealing Council is elected to serve, by:

1. Depriving preschool children of access to learning through play

2. Isolating parents, carers and children of a space to socialise and gather

We, the undersigned also strongly object to Ealing Council's Lammas Park play centre closure and appeal to them to find alternative ways to ensure its continued essential presence as part of Ealing community.

Please don't shut a valuable centre for the children and parents in the local comunity. The playcentre has been a lifesafer for many families over the years. I worked at the centre for 14 years and witnessed the positive impact on the wellbeing of children and the sanity of their parents.

this is a much used community resource & so useful yo keep under 5's entertained. For low income families, it is often the only resource available ...doesn't require parents to "pay to do a class". Outdoors toys & arts & crafts are thoroughly enjoyed by the kids.

one of the many reasons that makes lamas park so brilliant for parents of little ones. Unthinkable to close it! Only access to toilets, useful for rainy days, clean sand, free access to structured art and craft activities for little ones, friendly workers! I could go on!! Don't close the play centre!

Lammas Park Play Centre is the best part of living in Northfields. I have two small children and we visit almost daily. They love the facilities and I love chatting to other parents and careers there. We have made so many great friends from going there.

one of the only play centres with outdoor play, so importantly in our society where child obesity is at record levels. With the costs of preschool childcare in London at extortionate rates, these centres are a life saver for carers, stay-at-home parents or part-time working parents.

I realise that cuts are part of the political scene currently but I believe that alternative solutions could be explored rather than the outright closure, such as an small entry fee or shared used at the Lammas Play centre site

Thanks for signing the petition. I handed it in to the council on 9 December. They announced that they are doing a consultation on the possible uses the building can be used for. It should be made available next week on this page http://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/200921/local_plans/1243/latest_consultation

the play centre is invaluable to thousands of young children in the area, alternatives to closure should be fully explored
