I live in Alpine Meadows, enjoy the lake frequently, and am always frustrated by how exclusive it has become.Flag

Name: Joseph Kluchin on Sep 10, 2002State: NVCountry:Comments: If you take the developers, real estate agents and super wealthy out of the equation you probably have less than a couple dozen people that have been influenced by Economic propaganda of these people. Lake Tahoe is one of the Crown Jewels of Planet Earth. It does not belong to a few GREEDY Individuals or is it an asset of any major crop. Lake Tahoe belongs to the uncounted generations that will come after us. In my opinion Lake Tahoe should be declared a WORLD TREASURE by the United Nations. This Precious Jewel belongs to all of Humanity not just a few Who have the money to BUY VOTES on important decisions that effect the future of the lake.Flag

Name: Betsy Weiland on Sep 10, 2002State: CACountry: USComments: Tahoo is treasured as a place of natural beauty, not manmade grandeur. There is a time and place in this world for both. Now is the time to preserve the never-to-be-replicated magnificance of nature and Tahoe is the place. Please stick to the visionary course you have set. There are thousands of us today and generations to come who will be forever grateful. I say this with utter conviction because I. along with the five million visitors to the American River Parkway every year, bless the memory of the men and women who stood up in the early l960's to private development, and forever preserved almost 5,000 acres of land along the twenty-three miles of the lower American River. There are no words to ever acknowledge the profound importance of their work. Despite tremendous obstacles and opposition, these visionairies prevailed, and I know you will to. It is the right thing.
