Name: Anne Hickey on Apr 28, 2006Comments (optional, but we would like to hear them): I used to live in Toronto, and I still visit Toronto as often as I can. Turning rapidly vanishing waterfront park space into a parking lot is a criminal action in this day of declining open areas and natural habitats. I am shocked and deeply disappointed that the GTA City Council would consider this parking option without open and public discussion.Flag

Name: Connie Murphy on Apr 28, 2006Comments (optional, but we would like to hear them): Dear Mr. Miller, The same week that I heard Toronto had passed a new by law that trees, even on private property, can no longer be cut down without approval, I read that Sunnyside beach is under serious threat of losing a number of trees in order to accomodate yet more cars. How can this be How can one car, never mind a lot full, be more important than a tree We are merely stewards of this earth, and our actions, collective and individual, define us as unworthy of this trust. And you sir are the steward of the city, and the community of Parkdale, that I love without reservation. I trust you sir to live up to the promises you made to take care of Toronto, not with words but actions that will leave your granchildren's children proud of their ancestor's legacy. If you leave no footprints Mr. Miller, then your legacy will be one of honour rather than ignomony. Thank you for listening to me. Sincerely, Connie MurphyFlag
