The way a person dresses is a reflection of his or her personality. Many companies demand certain regulations to be followed regarding dressing and ban certain things about fashion. Schools do this too; they do it so nobody is picked on due to the way he or she dresses, but is this the solution of the problem? Or does the solution lie in the encouraging people to respect others even if they act, think, are, or dress different than them? My personal opinion is that the solution lies in the creating a peaceful, harmonious and respectful environment. Why should a person be told what to wear? Isn’t this a free country? Isn’t freedom of speech and action our right as citizens? I think that dress codes in schools and workplaces are a legal way to violate one of our most important rights. The way you dress may express you feelings, your passions, and your personality. This brings color to the atmosphere, why should color be left out of our lives? At the end, the most you can do is defend you right to dress the way you want, have the hair as long as you want, or have as many piercing or tattoos as you want, as long as you can, because it is your right to express your feelings and reflect you personality in the way you want.
