TO: FROM: Highlands County Board of Commissioners Highlands County residents and taxpayers CANAL DREDGE AND MAINTENANCE PETITION The undersigned enjoy and appreciate the use of the lakes and waterways within Highlands County. One of the unique features of Highlands County natural resources is the interconnectivity of lakes through canal systems. The Lake Henry/Lake June canal requires routine maintenance dredging. Highlands County has previously dredged this canal interconnection to allow residents to boat freely and safely between the two lakes. The canal has once~gain silted in, allowing the passage of no boats, jet skis and barely a canoe. The undersigned are urging the Highlands County Board of Commissioners to maintain this canal as they maintain other canals in the county. NAME ADDRESS
