Comments: I grew up in Whitby and we had two outdoor bowls that we used to help grow the minor system to the largest one in Canada. When I finished playing and started coaching, we would use those outdoors pads for practicing which cost nothing. This was a great way of keeping costs down on a team that the kids paid for themselves.

Comments: I am fully in support of this. Canada's National Summer Sport does not receive enough support as it is, this would go a long way towards cementing Brampton's place in lacrosse lore.

Comments: I am a Brampton resident and a 17 year veteran of Brampton Lacrosse. Both of my children play lacrosse in the BMLA. I played through the minor system and into Junior A lacrosse. In fact I was named to the OLA All Star team during each of my last 4 years in Junior. I attribute my success at lacrosse a corner stone to my success at other sports and have made me the man I am today. I attribute my success at lacrosse to being able to use the outdoor bowl for pick up games, practices and general skill development. Although back then it was just fun! My children should have the same opportunities that I had.

Comments: Lacrose has been played in Brampton for over 100 years and is a big part of our heritage. Now it is getting to a point where Brampton minor Lacrosse is turning kids away because we don't have the floor time to have the number of teams needed to satisfy the demand. That is a sad state of affairs. Maybe Susan should be reminded of her promise and of how many people my remember come election day.

Comments: Our National sport (trulynational sport) needs to be given as much publicity and exposure as possible and it is not only the people directly infolved with the sport but also the politicians and beuricrats who need to as well. We provide places for so many imported sports and hockey and basketball but we are not looking after our true national sport. It is time that you in brampton who took away a place to play replace it and stop procrastinating and do what is right and proper for the history of lacrosse in your city for which you are very wealthy. Don't make the mistake so many other communities have in the past.

Comments: Lacrosse is an original Canadian game that should be respected and allowed to live. Removing the lacrosse bowl and not living up to the promise of rebuilding one, if not two, replacement bowls, is depriving young and old alike of the enjoyment of the game! It is definately a comparible subject to skateboarding and the lengths extended to provide skateboarding facilities! Maybe the City is worried that they won't be able to collect a revenue from the use of lacrosse bowls Instead of monopolizing the use of indoor facilities, the City should be advocating the enjoyment of the sport at one's leisure, which in turn, would promote the sport and help it regain the popularity it once had in Brampton. Then just think of the revenue the City would have from registration increasing!!!! What a concept. To the City of Brampton....step up to the plate and live up to your promises for a change! To the participants of the upcoming demonstration....good work and great ideas! Hope you get all of the support needed and deserved!! Bernilu Herron-Black...(Former Brampton Resident)

Comments: Considering that Brampton is one of Ontario's breeding grounds for minor, major and professional lacrosse players, I am disappointed with council's inability to follow through on a promise. The lacrosse family is closely knit and will gladly support the promotion of Canada's national sports.

Comments: TO THE MAYOR OF BRAMPTON AND THE COUNSILORS, PLEASE BE RESPONSABLE AND REPLACE THE BOWL(S) THAT WERE TORN DOWN. LACROSSE HAS BEEN IN BRAMPTON LONGER THAN BRAMPTON HAS BEEN A CITY. THE LONG TIME SECOND, THIRD AND FOURTH GENERATION FAMILIES HAVE SEEN BRAMPTON GROW AND WHEN YOU LOOK AT THINGS LIKE THIS IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE FOND MEMORIES THAT WE HAVE AND ALSO ENSURES THAT OUR KIDS WILL NEVER HAVE THE SAME SORT OF MEMORIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE BOWLS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOWHERE TO GO. DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!

Comments: I think Brampton, as well as any city with a lacrosse association to have a facility of this kind. If skateboarders can have a play to skate, then surely people who play lacrosse(Canada's national summer sport) should have a play to play!

Comments: When I was a youth I remember the fun times I had throwing a lacrosse ball around the outdoor rink at Kew Gardens in the Beach. That came to a sudden end when the city locked up the facility during the day due to "insurance" reasons. What a waste of of a facility ! In any event, all communities need an outdoor facility where children (and adults for that manner) can enjoy the weather and play their preferred sport - mine being lax of course. Considering that Brampton lost its' outdoor facility to parking and they were promised 2 replacement rinks, there case is even stronger. Deliver what you promised !!!!

Comments: Being Canada's national summer sport, you'd think lacrosse would be more fully supported. I live in Toronto and there are very few places to play "just for fun". We need to provide these kinds of facilities to help keep us all out of trouble!

Comments: It is a shame that politicians cannot keep their promises especcially to the youth. Without organized sports, children are more likely to cause trouble. People in power can make a difference ONLY if they are committed to it.
