No More Lackmann Monopoly
The Pace University student body is dissatisfied with Lackmann Culinary Services for the following reasons: • Poor quality food • Inability to opt out of meal plan • Inability to use meal plan card off campus • Lack of variety • Poor customer service • Inflated, uncompetitive prices • Clubs are unable to purchase food from other vendors • Money left over on meal plan card at the end of the academic year goes to Lackmann The root of all of these problems is believed to be the following: The contract between Lackmann Culinary Services and Pace University’s New York City campus gives Lackmann a monopoly, thus limiting students’ choices and giving Lackmann the ability to engage in unfair/uncompetitive business practices. As such, we the undersigned students of Pace University's New York City campus do hereby demand to have immediate and permanent access to any past, current and future contracts between the University and Lackmann and demand to have input on the negotiation of the extension of this contract and/or any future contracts between the University and any culinary service provider.
