Name: Johnson on Nov 27, 2010Country: United KingdomComments : If we believe that beasts should be slaughteref humanely and without the trappings of religeon, and make laws to ensure compliance, .then we should believe it all the time, and not, as a matter of expedience, allow Muslims to flout our laws. They can believe what they like, but must obey OUR laws. Otherwise, settle where their habits are lawful!Flag

Name: Moore on Nov 27, 2010Country: United KingdomComments : As a Christian, I object to retailers not labeling meat to show whether it has been sacrificed ritually or not. All people of all religions: Muslims; Sikhs; and Christians; require the knowledge of whether meat has been ritually sacrificed or not as each of their holy writings has something to say about the allowing or prohibition of such meat. Iam sure that people that profess to being athiest, would also object to not being told which meat is which. Haven't retailers learned yet that we all want our food to be clearly labelled, and to be informed about the food we are buying. This includes this matter also.Flag

Name: Mackay on Nov 27, 2010Country: United KingdomComments : As a Christian, I believe it is wrong for meat that has been dedicated to Allah should be unwittingly foisted on the majority of the population, most of whom have no religion at all. I have no objection to Muslims, who are after all a minority of the population, being able to buy meat which conforms to their own standards, but I believe that meat which has been slaughbtered in such a way should be clearly labelled, in order to give consumers a choice.Flag

Name: Malcolm on Nov 27, 2010Country: United KingdomComments : As a Christian I object very strongly to being forced to eat halal meat unless I go to a great deal of trouble to make sure it has not been killed in this way. Even if I were not a Christian I would still object. What right has any religion, my own included, to force its practices on others by deceptive means? It must be made illegal to sell halal meat unless it is labelled as such. I find the creepng Islamification of Britain, to which this is a contributing factor, very worrying and even more so the refusal of the government to do anything effective about it. Is this because of oil and the power it gives Moslem states? One would like to know. Also I have heard it is a cruel way to kill animals. If so this alone should be enough to stop it.Flag
