It has come to the attention of many of LA Fitness' Decatur locations patrons that we will no longer be able to exercise in group fitness classes to music of the instructors choice.In such an environment, the company is making it very difficult for even the most talented and well liked spin instructors to keep us motivated. It need not be said that music is a known motivator as it is used during times of celebration, stimulation, and enjoyment and for LA Fitness to be aware of the obvious demographics at this location and make such a drastic modification is unreasonable and seems thoughtless. If we can not enjoy the group fitness classes with music that is likable and suits the workout environment then we can no longer justify paying rates greater than Planet Fitness’ $10 or rates equitable to other businesses offered in our community. We can work out on their machines with headsets for one-third of the price we pay LA Fitness. These are the type of decisions that should involve consumers because they affect consumers.
We are requesting that CD players be placed back in the spin and aerobics room so that instructors may bring music that they know best suits their class attendees.
