The investigation we demanded has finally been confirmed. I am physically drained by this long struggle but relieved that real changes are coming for animals at our airports. Please keep watching to ensure these new safety measures actually hold.

Dear Minister
I support the Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore's call for an investigation into the treatment of travelling pets at airports following the death of French bulldog Kransky at Sydney Airport on 1st February 2011 as he awaited a flight to Germany.
Information about Kransky's experience is available at:
kransky wordpress
or
kransky blogspot
I share community concern that animals in the care of airlines at Sydney Airport should be properly cared for and protected from pain and suffering. Could you please investigate Kransky's treatment at Sydney Airport, ensure protections and safeguards to prevent animal suffering at airports and inform the Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore what action you will take?

We hit one thousand signatures today. It has been a long and draining process to keep pushing for an answer, but seeing this number reminds me why I started. I am exhausted by the slow pace of change, yet I will keep going until we get a response.

I am so sorry about your loss - i am also a dog owner and have travelled with my dog - in Europe you could take your pet into the cabin if the dog or cat did not weigh more than 6kg. Maybe we have to look into that so no other pet has to suffer again
I am relocating to the UK from Darwin and taken my dog and cat there has recently been an incident at Darwin Airport regarding a dog being left before its flight in a place with no air-conditioning which also died of the heat .
It is critical that these animal welfare issues be investigated and stringent safeguards be put in place. We demean ourselves by doing nothing to improve the welfare of all living creatures and must set HIGH standards
hi, i feel so sad that the little dog has passed..I know of a friend that imported a french bulldog from Dubai to Sydney , (with Qantas) no problems, 14 hour direct flight BUT... from the time he was picked up till he was in Australia. i they were worried sick. these wonderful pets can be imported, but. i agree that it is the storage area that could be a major problem. THIS SAD SITUATION NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, URGENTLY. Kind regards Gail Christenas

This is a terrible loss. As a french bulldog owner myself, I can't imagine being Jon, learning of this.
Cute
Finland
This is a horrible story and such a tragedy for Jon and Belinda. It makes me terrified at the thought of transporting my own french bulldog when I move overseas from Australia in the next few years. Please get justice for Kransky and regulate the pet transport industry.
so sad and wrong
Please, please investigate what happened to Kransky and the treatment of travelling pets at airports.
Horrible story and the owners need answers
This is awful
This is disgusting and needs to be looked into and companies involved to be held accountable
Total negligence!! This didn't have to happen.
Awful thing to have happened. I hope you get the justice you seek.
This is disgusting, very simple measures could have saved this dog. And ignoring it wont make it go away or prevent it from happening again.
Please make sure this doesn't happen again, it's so very heartbreaking :(
Justice for Kransky
As a fellow Frenchie parent this is an appalling and abhorrent story. Let's be sure this never happens again.
Something has to be done, I can not bare to think of Kransky suffering this way and nothing good come of this absolute tragedy.
I am extremely saddened and appalled by this case knowing what my dog means and has done for me and my mental health and wellbeing. This is no different to if a human died on a plane. Their seat has been paid for, insurance paid, if air con was to breakdown on the plane the passengers would be given water at least and to receive adequate and basic care and service complying with standards and regulations. An investigation into the death would most definitely follow. I believe there is no difference in circumstance and as a being this must be investigated further and answers must provail and justice must be done for Kransky.
The poor little fella! This company should not be running anymore especially if they are not only unable to do their job but to be so cruel to this gorgeous pup. It truely sickens me! RIP little fella
This story broke my heart. I have 2 bulldogs myself and I would be out for blood if I lost them in such a terrible way. Something needs to be done about this. They're not just our pets, they are our family!
That shouldn't happen
This is a disgrace. A pet is a family member, and this is nothing short of murder!
We tears in my eyes i sign this. What a sad and horrible way for poor Kransky to die. You put your faith in people and all it could of taken was to check in. Its common sense not to leave pets in the heat.
This is atrocious.
What happened and the lack of explanation is appalling. No other dog or family deserves this horrible treatment. I want justice for this little frenchy and his people.
I can hardly type I am crying that much. How disgusting that these companies are allowed take our money to care/transport our fur babies and not provide any card at all!! Kransky will be a trail blazer in the shake up of this industry. RIP Kransky. The rainbow bridge will be lit up when justice is served
This needs to be a national issue. I have read similar stories of animals dying on the tarmac from heat stress at other airports in the country. Unacceptable.
Horrified and disgusted. Someone needs to take responsibility. This poor dog died a torturous death, totally avoidable.
This is heartbreaking and should never happen to anyone and their loved ones.
This is absolutely heartbreaking!
How disgraceful. My heart aches and I feel responsible and sad as a pet owner for what happened. It's not ok and it's not just.
This is extremely concerning
These people deserve answers. This little dog should not have died in vain. This is shattering should never of happened.
For my Frenchie Mina
no words to describe how horrific this incident is
Let’s do this !
People and businesses need to be held responsible for the services they offer and promises they make especially when it comes to the transportation of animals

Very sorry for your loss! I was advised by a representative of Sky pet that air travel was not safe for my small animal and to arrange for private car travel. Via ads etc. Very ethical company.
Oh my god
