We must defend the Mission Statement and restore community programming.Do something! Say something! Get active to defend our stations and our community causes.Flag

Name: Bella De Soto on Nov 3, 2009Comments: Bella De Soto wrote 11-02-09 *I saw this reckless train coming a long time ago… The sequence of events leading to this current action by this recently appointed Interim Program Manager Alan Minsky at Pacifica’s Radio Station KPFK in LA, has just blatantly pushed aside the very few significant dissenting political voices on the programming grid, who continue resisting the all mighty "Liberal" philosophy (Luke-warm Imperialism), never questioning root causes/why, but simply criticizing it on efficacy procedure, or accepting its norms as matter of course, illustrates the urgent need for a massive revolt to reclaim this precious U.S. non commercial radio resource as Pacifica Radio Foundation. As Ralph Nader explains this U.S. not so difficult basic political fundamental aparatis as a two-headed Dragon, that can only survive by fooling “We The People” by always arguing with each other’s theories (The Horse Race/Beauty Contest when convenient), which are identical in nature, varying just in small degrees, but the People are left in the middle always confused, yet influenced to vote every term against their best interest. *While Third Party Candidates are not permitted to challenge in debate this Dragon’s nominations, the 1st Amendment of the US Bill of Rights is violated, but this issue is never covered on Pacifica Radio for it would violate its own Democratic Party control throughout the past 20 years plus, now attempting a full choke clad, by systematically eliminating dissenting voices across its 5-radio network. Already, WBAI-NYC/KPFT-Huston, TX/KPFW-W. DC, have witnessed these draconian maneuvers, and now the Circle is closing with KPFK-LA, CA. *When Grace Aaron, a long time KPFK local station Board Member was selected to Chair Pacifica’s National Board, and also serve as Interim Executive Director (as if conflict of interest is non existent), these extreme actions went into motion immediately. All management teams at the respective stations have been pushed out, in order to implement these strategies without internal turmoil. Well, the listeners of these non-commercial stations will not go away any time soon… *Bella De Soot belladsx1@juno.comFlag

Name: Danny Torres on Nov 6, 2009Comments: I do not like the grid changes. I have lost interest in the programming because people like Suzi Weisman and Michael Slate have been remove from the strong part of the week. Although I like Ian Masters, giving him 6 hours is far much too air time. I liked the diversity of points of view in the drive time.Flag

Name: JANE FELLMAN on Nov 7, 2009Comments: Ian is speaking to the convinced and I have wished his program and guests could be heard by more people. I agree that he might learn to be more open and respectful of some actions and activists whom he disparages. I believe that you are both people of good will and might benefit from doing that which we wish for the world by meeting face to face until you can make peace via a greater committment to dialogue and common ground. What a hopeful example this would be when we need such role models. In, peace, Jane FellmanFlag

Name: Eric Anderson on Nov 7, 2009Comments: I am particularly opposed to Ian Masters having any more that one hour per week. His maligning the 911 truth movement is just plain stupid. I am thinking the best way to get more 911 programming on KPFK is form listener boycott until this is resolved. More 9/11 truth, less Ian Masters!Flag

Name: Eugene Hernandez on Nov 7, 2009Comments: I agree with the petition, but I am concerned that KPFk does not devote much time to Chicano issues, I believe that Radio Bilingual should have a segment about the local Chicano community in English and their issues. I do not agree that Ian Masters should have more time- he is elitist.Flag
