The marathon was scheduled on 30 June 2013, but due to the haze that affected the region the organizers of this event postponed it to 29 September 2013. Majority of the runners, especially the overseas participants, are unable to attend the postponed date due to various reasons. Reasons like availability on that date and travel plans cannot be simply re-scheduled. We understand that there refund isn't possible because there are costs such as overhead that has been expensed already. But the organizers should not "force" the runners to make themselves available on the postponed date. The suggestion is deferment of the registration to the 2014 Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon. This option was given to the 2012 ING NYC Marathon (http://www.runnersworld.com/races/faq-what-now-nyc-marathon-registrants) runners when the event did not push through because of Hurricane Sandy. In a much more local perspective, the 2011 Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon (http://muncity.blogspot.sg/2012/06/standard-chartered-bangkok-marathon.html) runners were also given the similar option due to the Bangkok flooding. Thanks, and please do help this petition.
