Make PFD use optional for Canadian kiteboarders

   Comments: We have the flotation at all times with us that we need. A bulky lifevest gets in the way of all our kite safety equipment which we really take care of. If I was swimming in the middle of the lake by myself you would leave me be and not worry. That seems totally arbitrary that I MUST wear a pfd and not a swimmer. Bloody ridiculous!! Stan Woodman

    Comments: This is a pathetic law to pass. I began kiteboarding 5 years ago and used a life jacket, my learning curve was a lot more difficult and pulling my safety leash became a lot harder to get to because of the bulkiness! Resulting in my first $1700 kite crashing into a tree and tearing!

    Comments: It should be voluntary and may be more life threatening for sure. A wetsuit is really more essential to preserving life in chilly Canadian waters a lot of the time and is almost a PFD in itself.
