Kingston City Council wants to raise out taxes 4 to 6 percent Why They recently voted against bringing in $350,000 dollars in tax revenue annually and abandoned the chance to create up to 200 new jobs by refusing the Lowes proposal. “The City’s Planning Department has mentioned the likely change in the border between the commercial lands and industrial lands would change the lands in question to commercial if they were to do a comprehensive study, likely to take more than 2 years.” (Source the Kingston Whig Standard “Letter To The Editor”) Re-zone the land! How long, can we as citizens, shoulder these costs Sign this petition as a citizen against high taxes. I am a resident of the City of Kingston and am strongly in favor of city council allowing Lowes to locate in Kingston on Gardeners Road. I am strongly in favor of the jobs and taxes that Lowes will create in Kingston. Therefore, I hereby request that Kingston City Council reconsider it’s recent decision to deny Lowe's request to re-zone land on Gardiners Road.
