Kings Dyke crossing is a notorious traffic blackspot with the gates being closed up to 10 times an hour. This is only going to get worse as freight traffic between the East coast ports and central England increases As we all know the A605 gets 5 times busier when the North bank road is flooded, which it does regularly. This compounds the amount of time wasted, sitting in queues when the crossing gates go down. We need to campaign by writing to all the local councillors, both Fenland and Cambridgeshire and putting public pressure on to encourage them to push the plans through as quickly as possible. Speaking to alocal councillor the more people that sign up to a campaign to get the improvements then the more he can push with the council to get work approved and started. Please sign up to this petition if you wish to inform Cambs County Council and Fenland County Council that this needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

*** UPDATE *** Although Cambs County Council has announced that the bridge will be built (Cambs Times 28/02/2013) funding for this was pulled by the government 10 years ago. We need this petition to keep growing so they know the feelings of all users of the A605 through Whittlesey and so they are aware this cause will not go away until the bridge is built.

*** IMPORTANT *** Please leave your name as anonymous signatures cannot be passed through to Cambs County Council and cannot be used in the total number of signatures for the petition.
