This seems like one mans way of monopolizing the appraisal industry and no one except the owner of an AMC is benefiting from this movement.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 18, 2010Comments: HVCC has nothing to do with helping consumers. It has everything however to do with putting billions of dollars in bankers pockets at the expense of appraisers and borrowers. Andrew Cuomo has used this scam to profit in order to raise campaign funds for the New York Governor's race. HVCC is nothing short of extortion. The prime suspect (Andrew Cuomo) deserves the electric chair rather than the governor's chair. Tens of thousands of appraisers are paying for his reelection through the loss of their businesses. Millions of homeowners have already paid for his election through the loss of their homes. STOP THE INSANITY. STOP HVCC & SEND ANDY CUOMO TO JAIL.Flag

Name: Tom Peta on Mar 19, 2010Comments: Andy Cuomo is an a-----e. He only cares about becoming Gov. of NY. He dosen't care who he hurts and who pays the bill. If his suite against Countrywide was so good why wasn't anybody indicted? Sorry to say he is Italian.Flag

Name: Paul Ganley on Mar 24, 2010Comments: HVCC needs to go away now! I have been appraising for over 24 years and due to HVCC I have not had a single appraisal order in over a year! I've lost business to out-of-area, inexperienced appraisers who do AMC work for 1/3 or even 1/4 of the normal appraisal fee! I can no longer compete and I may have to take my years of knowledge and expertise to another field if HVCC continues to destroy the industry I worked so hard to be a part of.Flag

Name: Caroline Jaffe on Apr 5, 2010Comments: HVCC is a pathetic lie and disgrace. It has not helped or protected the consumer. Some negatives to the consumer: 1. Cost has increased 2. Borrower cannot have the originator change lenders during the process without paying for ANOTHER appraisal. 3. Lender has no control over the quality of the appraiser. 4. The experienced and professional appraisers aren't working for $200 so the quality of the appraisal has dimished. 5. Bad appraisals lead to lack of financing available or several appraisals being needed. 6. Slow appraisals have caused delays in closings. All of these things negatively affect the consumer. This law was written and imposed by people in power who are ill informed about what really caused the housing mess we are in.Flag
