In this age of eroding constitutional rights, there is a corresponding degradation in the quality of the judiciary, both state and federal. Judges and prosecutors have devolved into incompetency and a state of corruption. Habeas was brought in the District Court for the southern district of Florida, which ruled, "tough luck," the state perfected its chicanery and outlasted the ability to seek habeas corpus in federal courts, which, because of the Patriot Act a the state could delay the case until the sentence was expired. Make no mistake about the effects of the Patriot Act; habeas corpus has been suspended and thousands of innocent citizens are in prison without a remedy.
